What kind of books does Chelsea Green publish?
For over 35 years Chelsea Green has been a leading publisher of foundational books on the politics and practice of sustainable living - books that go beyond how-to techniques to address the larger imperatives of restoring our depleted soils and fractured social and economic systems and reconnecting us to our communities, our food, and our world. We lead the industry both in terms of content, with foundational books on renewable energy, green building, organic agriculture, eco-cuisine, and ethical business; and in terms of environmental practice.
How to Order
Penguin Random House accepts payment for online orders by credit card only. We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.

Do you accept phone orders?
We do not accept phone orders. All orders must be placed through our website.
How much does shipping cost?
Any orders over $100 receive free shipping. Shipping costs for orders under $100 will be calculated at Checkout.
When will my order arrive?
Most orders will ship in 4-6 business days. We cannot offer rush shipments at this time. We apologize for any delay and thank you for your patience.
Preordered titles will ship on or within 2-3 business days of their on-sale date (listed in your basket)
Backordered titles will ship when available. If the backordered title does not become available within 90 days, that portion of your order will be cancelled, and you will not be charged for that item.
Please note: Business days for processing orders are Monday – Friday, excluding holidays.
What is your returns and refund policy?
Items ordered directly from Chelsea Green Publishing may be returned under the following conditions:
–Items must be new, unopened and include all components
– Return shipments must include a copy of the original packing slip
– Return shipments must be sent by traceable means (such as USPS Priority Mail Service or UPS Ground Service) within 30 days of the shipment date on the packing slip

Refunds will only be issued for new merchandise ordered directly from Chelsea Green Publishing and returned in original condition. Refunds will be issued for the value of the items ordered and any applicable sales taxes; original order shipping and handling and return freight charges will not be refunded.
We suggest you retain a copy of the tracking number for your return for reference. A refund will be issued to the card used on the order within 4-6 weeks of us receiving the returned item(s) provided they meet the conditions above.

Requesting a book donation
Chelsea Green Publishing is committed to supporting organizations and endeavors that are aligned with our mission, especially those within our own community. However, we receive an enormous number of requests for book donations. Please fill out this online form, and we will review each request and notify you if we are able to fulfill your donation request. No phone calls or emails. Please make your request at least one month in advance.

Submission Guidelines
Chelsea Green specializes in books that promote the “politics and practice of sustainable living” that are suitable for a general audience.
We encourage you to browse our website, looking closely at our titles to see what books we offer, and reviewing the submission criteria that follow. Although we accept unsolicited submissions, we usually receive more than 800 submissions annually and publish about 30 titles a year. If you think that your work is a good fit for Chelsea Green, then consider sending in a query letter or proposal.
