I'm not suprised that a fellow Taurus would be happier getting stuck in mud than living in a concrete jungle. Today, in the California Gold Country, on May 2, after a lunch that included our first crop of crispy romaine, we drank mint juleps in our worn jeans and watched the Kentucky Derby. For me, the perfect life is the modern rural life: connected to the greater world by wi-fi and satellite tv; when night comes it gets DARK - unless there's a full moon - and quiet except for crickets and coyotes and pretty soon now, a pond full of frogs. Happy Birthday Mackie!

Wow. What a post! Good luck with the farmette. Ever thought of raising rabbits? Also I have a tip for artichoke dip, it's called "Ted Sauce." Named after my cousin's alter-ego who tries hard to help, but often hinders the situation, except he has helped mayonnaise consumption: Put a little ketchup, mustard, lemon juice, salt/pepper, and some hot sauce in with the Mayonnaise and shazam!

p.s- do you have a flashlight in your car now?
