The Zen Manifesto of Non-Action

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

In the spirit of Thoreau's Civil Disobedience, the rug needs to be pulled out from under our corporate controlled federal government and the corporate welfare queens on Wall Street.

The Zen Manifesto of Non-Action

If indeed the engine of the American economy is consumerism, the American People have the ability to bring Wall Street and the federal government to their knees, by the action of non-action.

If the American People in the tens of millions boycotted and decided to not pay income taxes and if the American People in the tens of millions decided to not "buy into" the mass hypnosis of throw-away consumer culture, the American People could begin to set the agenda of a New Economy and ultimately shut down the corporate welfare casino systems known as Wall Street and our bankrupt federal government. In addition to the "power of authentic stories" the American People ultimately control the U.S. national economy and federal government by their agreeability and willingness (or non-agreeability and non-willingness) to pay income taxes and participate in corporate-controlled consumerism.

This has nothing to do with being a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative - the agenda of the financial, political and media elites is based on their continual conquering of the American People by division. This has everything to do with the American People taking our country back from the corporate globalists whose loyalty is to profit at the expense of everything else.

We can have either a Republic or an Empire but not both

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

George Bush might be the blessing in disguise America needs to transition from a culture of unsustainability to one which respects the earth and all peoples as being sacred. Enough with American Exceptionalism already. We've had our initial 200+ years of representative democracy – now is not the time to cave and turn over the Republic to corporate fascists; now is the time to stand up and decide whether this nation and its peoples have the courage to take our country from aggressive adolescence to middle age maturity. Now is the time to stop the torture, stop the dictator-like signing statements, stop the empire building and stop the obscene $1 trillion+ annual spending on weapons of war and death.

Deregulated global corporate "free market" capitalism has been proven to be a lie. Take off the blinders and see the actions of this administration for what they are – the bookends of September 2001 and September 2008 might go down in history as the signal events of the end of the American Republic. Or they might be remembered as the time when the people of this great country finally said no to the fear-mongering tactics of a small group of elites intent on power, wealth and control.

America can lead the world in becoming the first truly sustainable culture. We can live the principles of our founding documents, practice social justice and once again become a positive example to the people of the world. Or we can continue living in fear from our own government. We can have either a Republic or an Empire but not both – America, which will it be?

Financial Terrorism in a Fascist America

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

George Bush should be immediately impeached for practicing Financial Terrorism. His rape of the American people and the US Treasury proves that we are now living in a fascist nation. Over the last eight years We the People have been repeatedly lied to, our Constitution ignored and trampled on, and our treasure squandered in the protection and pursuit of corporate profits. Bush and his team of war criminals and terrorists in the White House should be impeached by Congress and then tried in The Hague for war crimes.

Illegal wars waged for the benefit of Big Oil and the Pentagon and Hank Paulson’s three-page $700 billion ransom note to Congress should convince you that Wall Street owns and runs our Federal Government. Fascism can be defined as “a system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.”

Using 9-11 as their New Pearl Harbor, with a Republican controlled Congress until 2006 and a totally ineffective opposition party and Congress since 2000, the Neoconservatives have created a Unitary Executive which for all intents and purposes has functioned as a dictatorship. The result has been the almost-near collapse of America as a Democratic Republic. Three of the most important books written on what has transpired include The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism by Naomi Klein, The End of America by Naomi Wolf, and Crossing the Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil by Michael Ruppert.

Unless the American People wake up and hold Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney accountable for their administration’s crimes against humanity, we will continue to forfeit our Constitution, our freedoms and our independence.

A Bankrupt and Hypocritical Republican Party

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

From the 2008 Republican Party Platform, adopted in September 2008…

"We support energetic federal investigation and, where appropriate, prosecution of criminal wrongdoing in the mortgage industry and investment sector.  We do not support government bailouts of private institutions. Government interference in the markets exacerbates problems in the marketplace and causes the free market to take longer to correct itself. We believe in the free market as the best tool to sustained prosperity and opportunity for all."

A Heretical View of Pax Americana

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

"What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of a peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war.” –John F. Kennedy, 1963

The events of 9/11 must have caused a state of mass hypnosis in the collective American psyche, for it seems that the American people have lost all sense of reasoning when it comes to believing the official story of how those events transpired and how the current administration followed-up in pursuing the organization officially named responsible.

I’ve just read Vincent Bugliosi’s new book The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder and I must say that if anyone in America is able to refute Bugliosi’s arguments, then I would like to see this person respond to this book in a public forum. Bugliosi lays out an objective, insightful, and skillful case noting the precise documents, statements, and manipulations deployed by the Bush administration in making its bogus claim of Saddam Hussein being an imminent threat to the United States, as well as the deceitful claims linking Iraq, Al-Qaeda, and the events of 9/11.

The fact that the American public bought these lies hook, line, and sinker suggests that 9/11, “the new Pearl Harbor” so sought after by the authors of the Project for the New American Century, had its desired effect in terms of effectively shutting down the ability of most Americans to see through the nefarious deceptions that followed.

For lying the nation into an illegal, immoral, and unjust invasion and occupation of the sovereign nation of Iraq, Bugliosi would like to see George W. Bush prosecuted for murder after his term as president is over. I agree. If the death of 4,000 American soldiers and at the very least 100,000 Iraqi citizens due to a war based on lies doesn’t outrage you, then perhaps America really has lost its soul.

“Americans are asking: ‘Who attacked our country?’ The evidence we have gathered all points to a collection of loosely affiliated terrorist organizations known as Al aeda.”

–George Bush, September 20, 2001

If George Bush actually believed what he said in the above quote concerning who was responsible for 9/11, why would he give up on having the United States military and intelligence agencies do all they could to capture and bring Osama Bin Laden to justice? After giving Bin Laden a free pass in the mountains of Tora Bora, why did George Bush turn his attention and the nation’s military resources to Iraq, a declared enemy of Al-Qaeda and a nation decimated by sanctions and two wars with Iran? If Saddam Hussein was a threat to America then Exxon is the Easter Bunny.

To paraphrase that august neoconservative sage Donald Rumsfeld, “You go to war with the ideology you have - not the ideology you might want or wish to have at a later time.” Unfortunately the ideology that brought this administration into power and drives its decision making is the neocon ideology that would have America project an empire of greed and destruction around the globe, without having to answer to the American people, let alone those of other nations.

Is America a Democratic Republic or an Empire? In his farewell address, one of the obscure founders of our country George Washington warned against the United States becoming entangled in the affairs of foreign nations. I say obscure founder because at this point Mr. Washington would be hard pressed to recognize this country as remaining true to its founding document (the Constitution) and true to the vision of the men and women who risked everything to break free from the tyranny of King George III, and establish America as the freest Democratic Republic in the history of he world.

Convening Secret Energy Task Forces that mapped out the oil fields of Iraq, deliberately lying to and misleading Congress and the American people regarding Iraq’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction, and deliberately deceiving the nation in creating the perception that Iraq was linked to Al-Qaeda and the events of 9/11 are all examples of the current administration’s agenda of empire.

George Bush and his co-conspirators Dick Cheney and Condoleezza Rice should have been impeached and removed from office years ago. It is time for the American people to wake up and reclaim a government that has been hijacked by the corporate-military-media complex intent on serving its own interests and ends. Vincent Bugliosi has created the template and blueprint for bringing “the decider” to justice – let’s hope that We the People demand justice and by doing so help restore America’s integrity and standing in the world. To do otherwise would be criminal.
