Chelsea Green Author Lee Welles
Gaia Girls author, Lee Welles, grew up on a 300-acre farm in Upstate New York. Her greatest childhood wish was to be able to talk to the animals and she spent many hours trying with sheep, dogs, cats, and horses and surrounding wildlife.
Although she studied zoology in college, a career detour has had her working and writing about the fitness and wellness industry for the past 15 years. Writing Gaia Girls has been a pleasant return to her original love of the outdoors and intention to be an environmental educator.
The author has lived in places such as Central Florida and Southern California. However, the smell of damp earth always sent her heart home to the hills, valleys and gorges of the Finger Lake Region of New York. She now resides there with her husband, a third-grade teacher, two farting dogs and one demanding cat.
