This 3-day course is designed for anyone interested in the latest green building techniques, from beginners to architects, builders, engineers and building code officials. Green building expert Dan Chiras, Ph.D. and guest speakers will teach and lead discussions, demonstrations and innovative activities. Dan is the author of sustainable building classics The Natural House, The Solar House, The Homeowners Guide to Renewable Energy, several other books and hundreds of articles. This course can be taken a la carte or as part of a Sustainable Building Practices Certificate. Other courses include Natural Building, Straw Bale Building, Natural Plasters and Finishes, Sustainable Development Principles, and Solar Photovoltaics. All participants will receive a copy of Dans book The New Ecological Home: A Complete Guide To Green Building Options.
